DETVA, Slovakia – PPS Group a.s. has celebrated the 70th anniversary of its founding. The milestone was commemorated at the company’s production site in Detva, with employees, business partners, shareholders and other guests in attendance.
Founded in 1955 as Podpolianske strojárne, the company has undergone a remarkable transformation over the past seven decades. What began as a regional manufacturing plant has evolved into a leading supplier of medium heavy and heavy welded structures for some of the world’s foremost manufacturers of construction, mining, forestry and agricultural equipment.
The anniversary celebrations also featured addresses by the company’s senior executives. In his speech, PPS Group Chairman of the Board JUDr. Daniel Futej highlighted the significance of the milestone for both the company and the wider region.
“A seventieth anniversary is an extraordinary milestone in the life of any company. I am proud to have the opportunity to be part of the leadership of PPS Group at a time when we are celebrating such an important chapter in our history. It is an opportunity to thank all generations of employees whose dedication has helped make PPS one of Slovakia’s leading engineering companies. At the same time, it is a commitment to continue developing the company so that it remains successful for decades to come,” said Daniel Futej.
Chief Executive Officer Ing. Peter Štupák thanked employees for their daily efforts, expertise and loyalty, which he described as the foundation of the company’s success.
The celebrations also included an Open Day that attracted numerous families, former employees and young people interested in technical professions. One of the most symbolic moments of the event was the participation of the company’s longest serving employee, who has been working at PPS Group for 48 years.
As it enters its eighth decade, PPS Group aims to further expand higher value added manufacturing, invest in advanced technologies, research and development, and maintain its position as one of the most important employers in the Podpoľanie region.
