Calibration and Testing Laboratory

PPS Group a.s. (a joint stock company) has its own accredited calibration and testing laboratory. The laboratory is used to carry out calibrations of length gauges, plane angle gauges, thermometers, pressure gauges as well as to take measurements of divergences from linearity and planeness according to the ISO/IEC 17025:2005 standard. It is capable of measuring the straightness of rulers, the planeness of control plates and measuring the geometric variables and divergences of shapes on the 3D coordinate measuring equipment in compliance with the ISO/IEC 17025:2005 standard. The calibration laboratory is used not only for our own purposes but is also outsourced to other companies. Our people constantly thrive to offer the highest standards through continuous research in their area of expertise. Our experts regularly attend seminars and training sessions. They update their knowledge and keep up with the developments in the research methods by sharing their experience with other professionals.

Metallographical Laboratory and Mechanical Testing
The PPS Group metallographic laboratory performs tasks to increase the quality of our products. We provide entire control of the supplied materials via mechanical and metallographical tests. Besides this, it carries out metallographic analyses of weld joints, tension and bending tests at ambient temperature, shock test in bends at ambient temperature as well as at lower temperatures and the hardness measurements HBW, HV, HRC, HRB and micro-hardness.

The quality lab carries out a number of mechanical tests and has a special engineering workshop for taking samples. We test in accordance with most standardized test methods, and also provide tests according to customer’s own specifications and wishes.

Damage analysis:
The industry is constantly experiencing that equipment does not meet the expectations. We use a combination of analyses, visual inspections, physical tests, and our experience to identify the probable cause.
A metallurgist thoroughly evaluates all aspects of the damage and gives a conclusion and a recommended solution.
